Tambomachay

Tambomachay is an archaeological site associated with the Inca Empire, located near Cusco, Peru. An alternate Spanish name is El Baño del Inca. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls that run through the terraced rocks.

Sacsayhuamán

Sacsayhuamán is a massive Inca fortress overlooking Cusco, renowned for its impressive stonework, with some blocks weighing over 100 tons. Today you have a free day to explore Cusco on your own.

Alternatively, there is an optional day trip to Rainbow mountain. Set off early from Cusco and journey across the Southern Valley towards Phulawasipata, where your trek to Rainbow Mountain begins. Ascend through dramatic landscapes, climbing to 5,000 metres as the vibrant colours of Cerro Colorado reveal themselves beneath the brilliant Andean sky.

Walk along trails surrounded by the towering peaks of the Ausangate massif, spotting chinchillas and wild vicuñas as they dart across the rugged terrain. Take in the incredible bands of ochre, turquoise, and deep red that have been shaped by centuries of geological forces.

Pause at the summit for a guided visit, where the thin air and profound silence create a moment of pure wonder. The views stretch endlessly across this otherworldly landscape that feels almost too extraordinary to be real.

Descend to enjoy a hearty hot lunch at a local restaurant, recharging your energy in the crisp mountain air. Later, return to Cusco with time to freshen up before heading to Tunupa Cusco, where traditional dinner awaits alongside a lively folklore show celebrating the spirit of the Andes.

Settle in for an evening at Tunupa Cusco, where Andean flavours meet traditional music and dance. Savour a buffet of regional dishes as performers in vibrant costume bring folklore to life. Watch panpipes and drums fill the room with rhythm. Let the spirit of the Andes unfold before you.

Day trip to Rainbow Mountain

Vinicunca or the Rainbow Mountain is one of the most popular destinations in Cusco. We will leave the hotel early to head to Cusipata and from there we will travel to Phulawasipata, starting point of the uphill trail. Enjoy nature along the path: herds of llamas and alpacas, as well as the majestic Apu Ausangate, the highest snow-capped mountain in Cusco. After approximately an hour and a half of walking, we will arrive at Vinicunca, at 5,020 metres. Our reward is a stunning view of the colourful hillside. The minerals that make up the mountain's soil give its slopes and summit curious shades of red, purple, green, yellow, and pink, among other colours. From there we will head back to Phulawasipata. We head towards Cusipata, where we will enjoy a refreshing traditional lunch before headiing back to Cusco.

Enjoy a final breakfast in the Andean highlands before your transfer to Cusco Airport. If your journey concludes in Peru, ensure your onward flight connects via Lima to your international destination, as direct international departures from Cusco remain limited.

Alternatively, if continuing on to Bolivia, fly directly from Cusco to La Paz with ease. Board your flight and watch the Andes fade beneath the clouds as your journey carries on—whether homeward bound or on to new horizons.

Yes, airport transfers are included in this tour. These transfers will be shared with you before your travel.

There are no activities scheduled for the first day. The standard check-in time at the hotel would be 1400 hours, and you can plan your arrival accordingly.

You can book your international flight for anytime after your connecting domestic flight from Cusco to Lima. We recommend allowing enough time for your connection at Lima airport. Check-out from the hotel in Cusco is usually by 11:00 or 12:00.

Absolutely! Solo travellers are more than welcome on this trip. Many of your fellow travellers will be travelling solo, making it a brilliant opportunity to meet like-minded people while discovering destinations together.

Children under 12 are not allowed on this Jrny. Children above 12 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Normally, yes! In some cases if the exact hotels are unavailable for any reason, we'll make sure you're put up in hotels that are equivalent to the original in terms of location and facilities. Rest assured, your stay will be as promised.

Please read through the itinerary in detail to understand the intensity of the activities planned. There are some long walks scheduled. Overall for the tour on a scale from 1 - 5, a fitness level of 3 would be ideal.

The itinerary includes some drives, especially through the Sacred Valley and during transfers, but none are overly long or continuous. The drive from Cusco to Sacred Valley and back is broken up with stops at various sites along the way.

Vegetarian options will be available, but might be somewhat limited. The same is true for vegan options.

We try and cater to other diet restrictions as much as possible. But, we do focus on regional local cuisine. So there will be limitations. Please write to [email protected] with your booking number in the subject line to inform us well in advance of any such restrictions.

Peru has diverse climates depending on the region:

Lima: Coastal, mild temperatures with some humidity.

Cusco & Sacred Valley: Higher altitude, cooler temperatures, and potential for rain (especially during the wet season from November to March).

Machu Picchu: Mild to warm during the day, cooler at night.

We require a 35% advance payment at the time of booking.

The remaining balance needs to be paid in full at least 50 days before the date of travel
