Depart in the morning for a 5 hr drive from Guwahati to Cherrapunji.

Cascading from a height of 1,115 feet (340 metres), Nohkalikai is one of the tallest plunge waterfalls in India and holds immense cultural significance in local folklore. The name ‘Nohkalikai’ translates to ‘Jump of Ka Likai’, referring to a tragic legend associated with a woman named Likai. The waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery, is a sight to behold, especially during the monsoon season when they are in full flow.

Alternatively, you can choose the slightly less challenging ‘single’ living root bridge which involves around 2000 steps. Both journeys are wonderful ways to experience Meghalaya’s natural beauty.

After an early morning breakfast, you will start on the drive from Cherrapunji to Shillong.

Explore one of Shillong’s oldest bazaars—the Lewduh market, and its vibrant blend of colours and fragrances. On its narrow streets, you will find local handicrafts, fresh produce, and traditional Khasi clothing for sale. Afterwards, enjoy an orientation tour of Shillong, and learn about this beautiful city in the hills.
